howto prevent the blank screen afetr 10 minutes

I'm looking for how to prevent the blank screen from appearing after 10 minutes of inactivity. I'm running a redhat based system with kernel v 2.6 with gdm and the screen becomes blank after 10 minutes of no activity. Running ps ax and grepping for screen shows nothing running (except the grep). ps ax |grep apm shows nothing running.
Perhaps there is a powersaver feature that I am not finding...
Suggestions appreciated...

It's a screensaver. I don't recommend turning it off unless you want your login screen permanently etched into your monitor, but it's your hardware. There should be an option in /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf for it. I'm assuming that you mean in gdm itself.

Have a look at xset, especially the dpms options.
