I've successfully installed RealPlayer 8 under Slackware 9.1 running Dropline Gnome. I want to be able to view linked videos on websites (such as those on www.c-span.org). However, clicking on the links automatically runs totem, which does not support the RealPlayer format. How do I view RealPlayer videos with linux?
Well, here's the problem. When I come across a site that provides links to rm files, firefox automatically starts realplayer to play them. However, when I use a site such as c-span, where the links use javascript to open a new window and play the video, firefox/slack/kde attempts to use totem to play them. How can I get realplayer to do it?
I'm using firefox. There is no option to do this. Under edit/preferences/downloads, there is something similar, but you don't have the option of creating a new file association. It's weird becuase when I clicked on the rm documents it asked me what I wanted to use to open the file and I chose realplayer as the default and it added it to the list of associations. However, when it opens in a new window with Javascript, it doesn't give me that option.
