How to Stop Receiving 'Sent Mail' in Opera

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
I have Gmail and I keep receiving 'sent mail' from my Opera when I check for mail. Is there anyway I can stop receiving mail I send out from Opera? It's annoying when you check for email and you get the same email you sent out.

This didn't happen before.

Xian... When i send email to anyone from Opera, and i check my inbox in Opera for email, those emails sent from Opera come into my inbox. I just want to see email sent to me in my inbox, not email that i send out that sadly ends up in my inbox. i dont know why this happens. is there a fix to this? to reiterate, i got gmail set up in Opera.

Are you using Opera itself or Opera's M2 mail client?
I browse to my G-mail account w/ Opera all the time & never have a G-mail Inbox worth complaining about.

Don't get your hopes up, I never got into M2 -- I am very impressed w/ their "Views" concept (sounds a lot like Gmail's labels), but I never got into it.

Not that I would expect any help from Gmail, but did you bother ask them?

More likely, did you check Opera's fora?

This is an "Interesting Question", I may just use it as an excuse to try M2 again.

Now for more info. from you:
Are you using M2 as POP or IMAP?
It sounds like you are sending Gmail from inside M2, is this so?
& what happens if you send from the Gmail web interface itself?

archtoad6, thanks for replying. in response to your 1st question, i am using pop and smtp.

in response to your 2nd question, when i send email from gmail's web interface, i dont experience the issue of receiving sent mail when i check my Opera inbox.

and in response to your last question, this has not happened to me when i first setp up gmail in opera, like a month ago. this problem surfaced around the time when i first complained about it at the start of this post.

let me know what you think. thanks.

Still working on setting up a G-mail acct. to test on & M2; meanwhile, what else changed a month ago -- any idea what might have caused the change in behavior?

Update:
I have a Gmail set up & seeded w/ a bunch of msgs from another acct. Now I have to get around to playing w/ it in M2.

How is it going w/ you?
Stumbled onto a solution on your own?

archtoad6, my main man, long time to chat. My gmail problem seems to have been resolved on its own. How this occured is WAY beyond me. However, the following little info a while back did help me with a similar gmail problem, which I think may or may not have been a precursor to this issue. Take a look and tell me if it helped you:

See if this helps...
