How to run the mpeg video transmission on NS2.28 ? (Using mpeg codecs)

Hello,

I'm trying to run the example given in this link

http://hpds.ee.ncku.edu.tw/~smallko/...vid_in_NS2.htm

I could successfully patch the file in NS2.28 and now want to try the example given there.
The example given is supposed to work on cygwin but my requirement is to do it on linux environment.

I'm new to video transmission and codecs things. I'm not understanding how do I run that on linux.
(I am using Fedora7.)

Please help.

Thanks.

The text in your link http://hpds.ee.ncku.edu.tw/~smallko/...vid_in_NS2.htm
says : "If you want to run the simulation under Linux platform,
I suggest that you use my newer tool-set at
http://140.116.164.80/~smallko/ns2/myevalvid2.htm "

Please read the LQ "myevalvid thread(s)"

Yes thanks, I observed that newer toolset link after I post the question.

I could do the recompilation part of it.

Now where do I place the files before I run the following command ?

Code:
$./xvid_encraw -i akiyo_cif.yuv -w 352 -h 288 -framerate 30 -max_key_interval 30 -o a01.m4v
I think I should place it in ns-2.28 folder but is it right way ?

Thanks for your myevalvid thread..

They have written as this at the beginning of the example,

Quote:
This example only runs on cygwin environment. If one wants to run this example on different environment or use other codec. Please download the needed software.
So, if I want to run this in linux (Fedora7) which software do I need here?

And I'm seeing 'xvid_encraw', 'MP4Box' and 'mp4trace' are '.exe' files and I guess they can't be run in linux environment.

What to do for this!?
