How to retrieve vanished packet(s) from DVD-repository?

I upgraded to openSuSE 11.4 using the DVD. 11.3 used KNetworkManager which is broken in 11.4 and Novell now urges people to use plasmoid-networkmanagement. This is contained on the DVD, I have definitely seen it in YAST when I checked whether KNetworkManager is installed (and it is listed in http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...E_11.4/x86_64/).

Consequently I now wanted to install the plasmoid-networkmanagement, but it is gone: neither YAST nor zypper list it anymore I dug around in all search modi but it is never listed -- seemingly gone for good from the DVD.

Before this I installed Gnome (and some other goodies) and tried the network management here (didn't work either). I then asked LQ (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi....php?p=4337670) and did some google-ing. So now I know that I should use the plasmoid-networkmanagement -- which I can't reach anymore.

I deleted the DVD-repository and added it again, using first YAST, then zypper. No luck. Anybody any idea what could cause this and how to deal with it?

Suse 11.4 OSS, 64bits.

# zypper se plasmoid-network
The reply is :
| plasmoid-networkmanagement | NetworkManager client for KDE 4 |

/etc/zypp/repos.d/ :
[repo-oss]
baseurl=http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.4/repo/oss/
type=yast2

[repo-update]
baseurl=http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.4/
type=rpm-md

... I don't know why you can't get the 'plasmoid-networkmanagement'.
But the URL you show in post #1 : Not a usual repo URL ?

The package is actually present at
http://download.opensuse.org/distrib...s/suse/x86_64/
..

No, it is vanished from "DVD:///SuSE11.4_64", i.e. the local DVD. In my despair I re-installed. I didn't look yet whether it is back again, I lost my users...(http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...53#post4340253). I'll let you know next week.

I don't see any "plasmoid-networkmanagement" on the "4.7" GB DVD.
( http://software.opensuse.org/114/en )

ls /media/openSUSE-DVD-x86_640024/suse/x86_64 | grep plasmoid
plasmoid-quickaccess-0.8.1-9.2.x86_64.rpm

Neither do I. Maybe it was a carry-over from the 11.3 installation or, more probable, I mistook the entry of some other repository for the DVD. I apologize for any unnecessary efforts I caused. Thanks for your help, knudfl.

The solution to the basic quandary is posted in this thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...11-4-a-877123/

P.S.: I won't mark this thread as solved, as it stems from an error of mine and gives no real solutions to the questions I asked initially.
