how to give root ftp access

hi

I just got my new dedicated box, but can't figure out how to give root ftp access, it always tell me login incorrect. can someone help me on this?

What ftp server are you using(vsftpd, proftp, wuftp)? Its a really big security risk to allow root ftp access anyway. I would suggest setting up ssh and using scp instead.

forget about the root access.

I want to give a new user I created ftp access to Documentroot
/var/www/html, right now, it's always say permission denied when upload and overwriting files.

Oh okay. Well you can change the group of the html directory to something other then root and then add the user to that group.
