how to burn iso image from ubuntu.

from within ubuntu: right-click: burn to disk

You can also install gnomebaker or brasero and use them to burn discs. Another option if you don't mind using the command line is cdrecord e.g.

sudo cdrecord -v -eject dev=/dev/sr0 somefile.iso

You should be able to find a good GUI tool in synaptic

KDE = k3b
gnome= gnomebaker

I've used both for CD/DVD burning, and they both are easy to use and work a treat!
