.bin files are not a standard format for program distribution, they are just generally used when distributing monolithic software from typically commerical busniesses. basically so they can give you some sort of automated installer. while this is nice for installation, they have no inherent framework to fit into , e.g. RPM databases... so they all work their own way. maybe some will have uninstallers, but it's their call completely. generally though you can just delete whatever files they have created, which in the case of these monolithic programs (e.g. Java SDK, Helix Server, Open Office) will be a dedicated subdirectory of /opt (i.e. "Program Files")
