How do I upgrade Gnome?

Well, I'm pretty new to this, using RedHat 9.0 and would like to update my Gnome to the latest version.

Where can I get the binaries from? What binaries do I need? How do I upgrade it?

Thanks in advance.

Ximian Desktop with Red Carpet is a tool that can upgrade your software.

Ximian Desktop and Red Carpet are (still??) free

You can use the powerful Debian GNU/Linux tool named apt-get. Your distribution is ready to work with it, just go to http://apt.freshrpms.net/ and install the rpm package of your Red Hat release.
When you're done with instaling apt-get type in your root console

Code:
#apt-get update
than

Code:
#apt-get upgrade gnome
if you want your system beeng up to date just do
Code:
apt-get upgrade
Remember, that first you must do apt-get update and than apt-get upgrade, but if you read the docs, you'll know what are you messing with
Hope this help
That's the easyest way I think.

Oh I thought apt-get is a Debian only tool... If it's for RedHat as well, I'll check it out, thanks.

As for Ximian, isn't it a different (though Gnome-based) desktop environment?

By the way, can I use apt-get to upgrade other stuff as well (kernel, KDE etc.)?

EDIT: Hmm I used "apt-get upgrade gnome" and it only offered 2 packages, a total of 400kb... Don't think it upgraded it really.
