Post how do I get root-tail to show up on startx?

I'm using fluxbox and I'd like to get root-tail to show up when I startx. I tried including it in my .xinitrc file like this:
Code:
wmcube &
wmnd &
cputnik &
wmix &
root-tail --color black -g 768x256+16+738 /var/log/apache2/access.log &

exec fluxbox
But that doesn't display it. However, when I switch to a console (ctrl+alt+F1) and then back to x (ctrl+alt+F7) it does show up... I thought I might need to execute the root-tail command after "exec fluxbox" but that doesn't display anything at all. Even when I switch to a console and back.

Does anyone know what's wrong?

Thanks.

Try editing the line thus

exec root-tail --color black -g 768x256+16+738 /var/log/apache2/access.log &

Thanks. But no, that didn't work. I tried both before and after "exec fluxbox". Anything else I should try?

I have this line in my ~/.fluxbox/apps
Code:
[startup] {root-tail -noflicker -i 10 -g 100x750+0+0 /home/blt/primelog,white}
Works beautifuly.

Looks like this by the way.

Thanks.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me. I wonder why? What version of fluxbox are you using?

And it's weird... I tried going back to my old configuration. The one where it did work if I switch to a console and back. But now it no longer works like that. What's happening?

It's working now. With the .fluxbox/apps. It seems like my fluxbox style is putting the wallpaper ontop of the root-tail so I have to wait a few min untill it refreshes ontop of the wallpaper. Thanks.
