Lightbulb How do I disable "F1" button which acts as "sleep mode" button on my laptop in Kubuntu 20.04?


Is there an easy way to disable "F1" button, which acts as "sleep mode" on my laptop?

probably I would try to rebind this button to something else.

Not sure if this is possible for you laptop, but many notebooks have means to lock/unlock the Fn key so that secondary actions of F1, F2, etc. only work when Fn is pressed. Look in the BIOS settings. See this article by HP and this one at The Shared Web.

There is a tool in the KDE settings app that will allow you change what keys do, so take a look in there and see if F1 is already defined to issue the sleep command, and if so then you can change it.
