How do I change the date display on Planner Gantt view?

I'm running Planner on Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid ibex. I would like the Gantt View to display Month and date but can't seem to find where to make that change. Currently it defaults to showing "Week xx, 2009" on the first line of the header with the day of the month on the second line. Is this hardwired or can I change it? Thanks!
