Help with Wine / Xorg.conf Problem

Hello,

Okay so I have installed Diablo 2 just fine and everything works but everytime i play the game and exit, the game crashes, or my ubuntu updates i have to copy over my xorg.conf with a good backup I have and reset the machine, then the system will load Diablo 2 otherwise it gives me an error message stating: error 25: A critical error has occured while initializing Direct3D.

When I load it from the console i get:

fixme:xrandr:X11DRV_XRandR_SetCurrentMode Cannot change screen BPP from 32 to 16
err:xrandr:X11DRV_XRandR_SetCurrentMode Resolution change not successful -- perhaps display has changed?

How ever by replacing my xorg.conf with a good backup and reseting the system fixes this issue untill next time. I have compared the xorg.conf's and there is absolutely no difference between the two, so this makes no sense to me.

also when i run a a glxinfo | grep render from the console it gives me a Direct Rendering: Yes

I have re-install all my nvidia drivers and the issue still occurs.

I have also updated my Wine to version .58. I tried .59 but it broke things in Diablo 2 so I went back to .58. I can't do .60 as I haven't upgraded my Ubuntu as of yet.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I appologise if this is a double post however I have had a post in the Software-Games section for awhile now and no one seems to have any ideas. I'm hoping to find direction here.

Thanks agian,
