Xorg.conf problem


Hello all

I have installed suse 10.3 64bit plus updates, when i booted for the first time i got a blank screen,(no Xserver starting) so i booted in console as root init3 and tried to manauly configure. Using Xorgconfig, i got the system up with a 800x600 resolution, i then installed the nvidia drivers,
i dont get the nvidia splash screen, but it says i have 3d support. i have 2 x 7600gs g/cards. but i have hit a brick wall trying to sort this.

Im on a steep learning curve here!!

Those numbers are very low (mainly the 48.5). Are they correct for your monitor? Do you have correct info for your monitor?

give us output of /var/log/Xorg.0.log (or some similar file that logs your X)...

this seems to have helped and i now get the nvidia splash screen,(for a split sec) dont know if both cards are working,

do i need a motherboard chipset driver for this, i needed one for winxp, to get the full benefit from the cards and motherboard.
