all my braincells are working, but I don't know what you're talking about, more info please.
I guess you're talking 'bout a game you're trying to install, so:
-the cvs version doesn't have support for installers
-not all games are compatible with winex (or vice versa)

ok the winex web site says that Diablo2 works and is supported by transgaming. so it should work. now i open up winex and put in the diablo2 install disk. nothing happens. the install buton is greyed out. also when i try to umount the cdrom it says that only the root usr can do stuff like that. how do i lofin as root. (loging in on a consle doesen't work eather)

did you read the docs? i have wine installed but im fairly sure they are similar. check your config file for the proper path to the cdrom mount point. should be something like :

[Drive x] <------ x = your cd-rom drive letter under dos.
"Path" = /path/to/your/cdrom/mount/point <--- normaly /mnt/cdrrom
"Type" = "cdrom"
"Label" = "CD-Rom"
"Filesystem" = "win95"
; make sure that device is correct and has proper permissions !
"Device" = "/dev/cdrom"

check it out and make appropreate changes as needed.

usuly it lives in /usr/share/wine-c in the case of the wine rpm install but if you installed from source its in ../documentation/samples

if its installed with source youll have to either copy it to your wine fake windows tree or create one but i would check transgamings site for a forum or faq as to the specifics since it is thier package it may live somewhere differant

You can run winex from the command line, too. Navigate to the cdrom, open a terminal and type in winex3 install.exe (I'm assuming you have winex 3.0 by the way and that the file you need to run is called install.exe).
