help with Joliet extensions, etc. help

I have had slight issues making CD backups of my home folder. All I need to ensure is that the filenames are long enough and that hidden folders are preserved. What sort of Joliet extensions, etc. do I need to set to do this? I did it once, and I lost some important stuff that was in hidden folders.

Hi,

And welcome to LQ!

Not sure I understand your question ...

if you need to use joliet, and have long paths in your home
try
mkisofs -joliet-long -r

Cheers,
Tink
