sorry i couldn't help. i don't mean to advertise but i use FreeBSD, and i love ports. you don't have weird problems like this. i checked the FreeBSD ports for "gramps" and i found it. if you had FreeBSD all you would have to do is this:
Code:
# cd /usr/ports/science/gramps
# make install clean
and that's all. i swear it works for like every program w/o any dependency problems (it resolves them for you and donwloads the appropriate package). just something to think about....
I downloaded the latest gramps the unstable version, now I get this error
checking for pygtk-2.0 >= 2.3.4... Requested 'pygtk-2.0 >= 2.3.4' but version of PyGTK is 2.2.0
at least now it can see i have pygtk haha
checking Python bindings for gtk... ok
checking Python bindings for GNOME... configure: error:

well I'm making progress anyway, but next week I should have the program installed lol
closer. how did you install gnome-python? i would do a slackware package install of it. i think the problem might be that it doesn't see where you installed it (that is, if you didn't do a slackware package install).
Ive tried three diferent slackware install packages of it it still wont see it , Ive gt bigger problems now I edited my /etc/rc.d/rc 4 to load kdm rather then gdm now I can't boot I'm gessing I didnt make then new /etc/rc.d/rc 4 exacutable . any way to fix this without reinstall ?
