gtkpod conversion problem
I've recently switched to an all-linux system (Ubuntu 11.04). I'm trying to manage my music and iPod using gtkpod, but have run into a problem.
When I try to put ogg files onto my ipod, I get this message:
Conversion of 'name' failed: 'usr/share/gtkpod/scripts/convert-2mp3.sh ' returned exit status 5.
I think this is probably due to ipods not supporting ogg files, and gtkpod trying to automatically convert these to mp3s.
When I open the script in gedit, I see that 5 means "cannot exec encoding" and that "ENCODER='lame'
Ok, so I go to double check LAME is installed. Turns out its not, so a quick apt-get later, I restart gtkpod and try again, this time getting a "status 6" message, which means "conversion failed"
Now what?
