Unhappy GTK+ 2.0 / Gnome 1.4.1 ???

Hello all,
Recently, I tried Gnome 2.0, and my only real gripe was that it didn't play well with enlightenment. Since I like E more than Gnome 2.0, I've resolved to use Gnome 1.4 and E16 until E17 comes out (hopefully that won't be too long However, I'd like to have some of the perks of Gnome 2, such as AA fonts and the ability to use GTK+ 2 apps. Will GTK 2 work with Gnome 1.4? If so, can I get AA from it, or is that out of the question in Gnome 1.4? Thanks in advance!!

Followup

Sorry, forgot to add this too: Failing the above, has anyone gotten Gnome 2.0 and E16 to play well? I was able to start E, but the middle-click-menu would not stay open for more than 1 sec, and when I switched virtual desktops, the taskbar & desktop icons would not redraw themselves. Furthermore, when I switched back to the first VD, the desktop icons would appear in a window, followed by a Nautilus window that would not die! Has anyone had better luck?

I am pretty sure you can run gtk+ 2.x stuff on whatever. I use fluxbox and have no problems with it.

can't help you with the w.m. stuff.... you should try flux though if it isn't working the way you want
