grub segmentation fault
i installed gentoo on my laptop. I can use grub from the live cd but not from the installlation. When i try to setup grub from the installation i get the following:
grub> root (hd0,0)
grub> setup (hd0)
Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists...yes
Checking if "/boot/grub/stage2" exists...yes
Checking if "/boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5" exists...yes
Running "embed /boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5 (hd0)"... 22 sectors are embedded.
succeeded
Segmentation fault
When i restart the boot loader just freezes and says Stage 1_5 on the screen. Any suggestions.
Make sure you have the latest version of grub installed, and try it again. I'm not terribly familiar with grub, but it looks like the grub executable crashes before it finishes its work.
