GRUB Loading Error 17, can't get past in boot. Please help.
I have a Ubuntu/Windows 10 dual boot and right now when I boot up I am constantly getting:
"GRUB Loading stage1.5.
GRUB loading, please wait....
Error 17"
I have tried using a flash drive with a boot ISO, a DVD with a boot ISO, but it doesn't recognize them, and I can't think of anything else to try. I can't get into the BIOS because it flashes by too quickly to press anything and I literally just cannot get past this screen. Please, any and all help is appreciated. I need to get into that Windows boot ASAP.
Thanks
what version of ubuntu are you using? Why are you using grub legacy instead of grub2?
The problem is that I can't remember, I had set it up while back and I haven't had time to play with it in a few months, I've just been booting straight into Windows, and I can't find the original thumb drive that I used.
I'm not sure what grub legacy is...how can you tell that I'm using it?
The error you are reporting is only shown with Grub Legacy which Ubuntu hasn't used for 7 years so if you have it you must have a very old and unsupported version of Ubuntu.
Did this dual-boot ever work? Did you have an Ubuntu installed and then installed windows 10? If you can't boot either system or a DVD/flash drive to get more info, there isn't much anyone can do to help. Post some info on your hardware.
