Exclamation Unable to boot past loading PCMCIA 2.6.21.3

The other day I compiled kernel 2.6.21.3 which was at the time the latest stable version of the kernel, everything runs nicely apart from when I try to boot with my wireless card in the laptop, when it trys to start PCMCIA it fails with various errors, I just wondered If anybody knew why this might be, I had heard that the way PCMCIA services are handled was about to be changed in the kernel and that I would need new tools to use my card, the card does work in the laptop you just have to put it in after the machine has hit run level 4

any info would be much appreciated
thanx

After reading 'Changes' I have found that what I suspected has indeed happened pcmcia-cs has now been replaced by PCMCIA-utils

"PCMCIAutils
-----------

PCMCIAutils replaces pcmcia-cs (see below). It properly sets up
PCMCIA sockets at system startup and loads the appropriate modules
for 16-bit PCMCIA devices if the kernel is modularized and the hotplug
subsystem is used.

Pcmcia-cs
---------

PCMCIA (PC Card) support is now partially implemented in the main
kernel source. The "pcmciautils" package (see above) replaces pcmcia-cs
for newest kernels.
"
PCMCIA utils is currently being developed and there are several known issues, mine is already known, for more information on PCMCIAutils you can visit
http://kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/ke...ia/pcmcia.html

For those with the same problem as me I guess you either got to sit tight and wait for the fixes, or use an older version of the kernel
