GIMP stops the X font server
I'm using GIMP 1.2.3 (tried many times to upgrade, deps kill me), and I'm trying to insert font into a picture. However, when I do so, the dialog freezes, GIMP freezes, and X kills itself because the font server isn't up. I have no idea why GIMP would want to kill the X font server. Any ideas?
Gimp requires a lot of ram to process things with any degree of speed. How much ram are you using? Are you certain things are frozen, and not just running very, very slowly?
