Hi guys
I use Emacs but lately it has started doing strange stuff when I save a file. I need to save very frequently and since today (got no idea WHY) Emacs constantly says "... has changed since visited or saved. Save anyway?" to which I reply yes. Then it complains again, saying ".. has changed on disk; really edit the buffer?" To which I again press Y for yes. However, this does not go away - each and EVERY time I now try to save any file I have to go through this and it slows down my work enormously.
I have not changed my .emacs file when this started happening, and there is nobody else editing the file at the same time as me. I have tried deleting the .emacs.desktop file and recreating my entire desktop, moving the file being worked on, recreating it from scratch, nothing works. Emacs keeps on with "save anyway, reread buffer" stuff.
How can I get Emacs to just *shut up*, and "really" go and save the file and "really" edit the buffer again after that?
I understand this is to prevent multiple ppl editing the same file, but this is really getting me down...!
Thanks
