Question Gedit uses something that works bad in root...


What is it gedit uses additional that causes so many problems in root account? When run

# gedit /some/file
it either doesn't open file at all or opens it with lots of errors...

you fancy telling us what these errors are?? most likely it's X server display issues as I hope you're not running X as root. if so, "xhost +localhost" will allow roots X apps to display on your normal X server. This is nothing whatsoever to do with gedit though.
