Games runs slow as normal user, but fast as root user
Hi:
My problem: When i use a game like q3, ut or mame, if i log on as root the game runs fast, but if i log on as normal user, the game run slow. I configured DRI in X (XFree 4.4) and the console messages displayed when i run the game seems to ok (DRI is being used).
My system:
Intel Celeron 900, 256MB RAM
Sis 305 32MB graphics (PCI)
Linux 2.4.22
Sis_Fb in kernel
Sis DRM updated and loaded
Latest sis_dri.so for XFree 4.4
Permissions set to 0666 for DRI in XF86Config.
I tried to see if the problem is the user that starts the game, but if i do a "su" in a xterm the problem remains. Only log on in a tty and do "startx" as root works ok.
