Games on Linux

Hi.
I have been using Llinux for a while. Mainly on my laptop for school. I want to install one of the distros (probably ubuntu) on my new gaming rig. I have 8800GTX card in it. I looked on nvidia website and they do offer drivers for linux. Anyone tried them, and how is performance in linux compared to performance in windows?

Thank You.

If you look round this site, you will note that nvidia based graphics cards are recommended for use with Linux than any other graphics chipset. This is because the drivers are fairly easy to install and work pretty well on most Linux distros. I can't compare the Linux driver with the Windows driver because I don't use Windows.

Using the nVidia drivers would serve you well in Linux. Their performance is excellent
