gaim msn error

Hi
I have download gaim ( latest version, tar based). When I try to login to my hotmail account via gaim, it gives the folowing error;
"Plaease install the proper ssl"
when I give the command "rpm -qa | grep ssl", it gives the following result;
openssl-perl-0.9.7a-2
openssl-0.9.7a-2
docbook-style-dsssl-1.76-8
openssl096b-0.9.6b-3
openssl096-0.9.6-15
openssl-devel-0.9.7a-2
mod_ssl-2.0.40-21
it seems to me that prper ssl is installed. Can anyone tell me that how can I solve the problem. I install gaim using command, ./configure; make and make install.

What are the last few lines that you get from
gaim's configure?

Specifically the SSL library bit...
