Gaim hyperlink hover crash

When ever I mouse over a hyperlink in Gaim 0.72 (updating to 0.74 didn't help) it crashes. Newest stable versions of gtk (2.2.4), glib, atk, and pango available from gtk.org installed. This only happens in my user account though. If I'm logged in root or the public account I set up, it doesn't do it. I tried removing the .gaim and .gaimrc from my user folder to set it all back to defaults, but to no avail. I already submitted this to the gaim people and they said its a pango problem. So I submitted it to bugzilla and they said its a gaim bug. So they were no help. Here is the backtrace:

#0 0x402cd001 in pango_font_get_metrics (font=0x0,
language=0x0)

#5 0x4034e1e3 in g_main_context_iterate (context=0x8117b38,

dispatch=1, self=0x80f1530) at gmain.c:2380
#6 0x4034e8bf in g_main_loop_run (loop=0x81cb4a8)
at gmain.c:2600
#7 0x400cde57 in gtk_main () at gtkmain.c:1093
#8 0x080d1a25 in main (argc=1, argv=0xbffff954) at main.c:914
#9 0x4050c17d in __libc_start_main () from /lib/libc.so.6

Could this be a problem with some setting in ICEWM? The gtk people pointed out the "font=0x0", but they said that points to a problem with gaim (while the gaim people said the reference to pango points to a problem in pango).

Thanks
