Firefox won't start, no error

A package I installed required firefox to be installed, so I did so. When ever I try to open it, it just won't open. A button for it apears in the docker and the cursor changes like usual but then it just dissapears, it gives me no error or message of any type. I used firefox in Winbloze and like it so I would really like to get it to work, any ideas?

I got it to work.... It was some sort of a link problem, I just made a new link and it worked fine. But I just tested it in a terminal and it said:
Code:
/opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/firefox-bin: symbol lookup error: /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/firefox-bin: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_lock
I have no clue what that means, any ideas? Also, do you know anything about the mplayer plugin for firefox? I installed it just how I was told by my brother and the readme to do it, but it still won't work, it still says I need a plug in.
