Firefox opera konqueror

I went to a mates place who I have set up a Kubuntu system for his young to play around on and learn on. The problem was with wireless and Firefox.

Having fixed the wireless issue I moved onto the Firefox problem..... and couldn't fix it (much to my embarrassment)

The problem seems to be Firefox downloading content. It seems to resolve pages ok, but then the content wont come down.

I did however, get content into Firefox if I first browser to a site in Konqueror and quickly copied and paste the same URL into Firefox. This was very odd to me, but proved correct on a number of sites.

The 2nd problem was with Flash sites. Konqueror could run games found on http://www.dragongamez.com/ but not on http://www.flash-game.net/ and Firefox (with the help of "preloading on Konqueror") could play games on http://www.flash-game.net/ but not on http://www.dragongamez.com/.

My solution was to install Opera, which played games from both sites and loaded content on its own.

Besides the computer obviously being haunted ... what other thoughts do people here have as a solution ?

I should be able to get this PC back to my place for the week to have a better look and would like to have some idea's to troubleshoot this trick issue(s)

Thanks

Some possible solutions for FireFox:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Error_loading_any_website

As for your flash problem, could you check if you have more than one version installed (as root):
Code:
find / -name libflashplayer.so

Thanks.

I will try that when I get it, although as for Firefox, none of it applies. Gives me an idea to burry more into the house wireless modem/AP. I can't see why it would block Firefox and not Konq and Opera.
