Angry Firefox and its darn plugins !!

i seriously wonder sometime that firefox is ment more for windows users than linux users !! the plugin installer makes no sense as it always turns up nothing when it comes to linux. i cant even get midi files playing because the detector cant find the plugin.

ive set my se-linux settings so that apps can be downloaded and installed by firefox. i also installed mplayer via yum and nothing still ( have all the libraries, dont worry ) so i ask how can i get multimedia working on firefox ??

ok, the mplayer plugin solves a lot of problems, i can see wmv and mov videos perfectly but its causing a lot of trouble during mp3 playback on websites. im making one which has an embeded mp3 file playing and the distortions are quiet a few, while the website runs perfectly on IE 6 check it out for urself and tell me if u can get sound working perfectly in firefox, in linux : http://socr.uwindsor.ca/~garg2/

work for me too with mplayerplug-in ver 3.25
I dont know if I want to hear that, whatever you call it... noise. Just because you like it doesn't mean your audience will. In fact you will annoy them.

I just installed Firefox 1.5 and did a search for firefox and multimedia which brought me to this thread.

Now, with Mozilla 1.7 and Plugger, and of course Flash and Java, I can play just about everything I encounter on the net. Plugger makes the difference since it will invoke the right package for the file to be played.

I have been trying to get Plugger to work with Firefox, but so far no joy. Is the mplayer plugin for firefox the only multimedia thing available? As thorough as mplayer is, it seems to require a lot of fiddling to make it work with everything, and having something like plugger available to handle all that fiddling in advance has been pretty nice on Mozilla.

The MediaPlayerConnectivity extension for Firefox seems to do the same as Plugger.
You may want to try it.
