Firefox

Hi Folks,

This is stupid and I know it but I'm trying to upgrade/install firefox 1.5. I was running 1.0.7 with no problem. I've since uninstall 1.0.7 and for the life of me I cannot get firefox 1.5 working.

I've tried

1. Installing rpm, it seems to install fine, creates a firefox directory in /usr/lib but I cant start firefox at all.

2. Unzipping .tar.gz file into /usr/lib and again it creates the relevant directory and I still cant open firefox.

I know this is a beginners mistake but I cant figure out what it is.

Any help is much appreciated, even the best way to go about installing Firefox would be great

What happens if you run:
Code:
/usr/lib/firefox/firefox
fron xterm?

Thanks that done the trick. When I read your reply I was instantly about to reply 'but I've install libstdc++ libraries but I decided to check out the other post to youpointed me towards and sure enough compact-libstdc++ is something else.

I dont know what I'd do without linuxquestions.org

Cheers
