Which arch are you using, x86 or amd64?

Are you using the firefox-bin or source?

I run the latest 64 bit firefox 3.0.5 from source with the 64bit alpha flashplugin, and so far it has been working almost perfectly.

First off I would un-intstall firefox-bin and nsplugin, netscape-flash. I would then re-emerge mozilla-firefox, and netscape-flash. Firefox 3.0.5 is stable in portage now, and would definitely help the situation. Why are you using nspluginwrapper? Are you using amd64 arch? If you need any specific commands for removal or install let me know...

What processor are you using? I found that on slower (< 1.5 GHz) processors, Firefox with Flash will crash unless a second window is opened to a web page with a Flash ad (such as Yahoo) and left up all the time. This happened to me with a 1999-vintage eMachine 433 MHz box running Slackware and Debian.

Memory might also be an issue (the eMachine had 256 MB - its maximum).

I've had no issues with Firefox on faster processors regardless of the distro I tried (Slackware, Debian, Fedora, CentOS, PCLinuxOS), although I haven't tried Gentoo.
