Best player for DVD anything is Xine in any of its favors. And when it comes to burning you can always count on K3b to do the job.

RealPlayer and HelixPlayer don't play along nicely so its best to remove both and reinstall RealPlayer. Also if you need a multimedia player, then install something like totem-xine or kaffeine with win32 codecs and libdvdcss (for playing encrypted dvds).

To remove RealPlayer, do something like,
Code:
#rpm -qa | grep -i real
A list of packages with the name "real" will be printed on the screen, uninstall the one you don't need by using "rpm -e".

You could try getting a Graphical package manager such as Synaptic (I think it's called) and that would allow you to search though them in a graphical method rather then a command line method. Just an idea...

Hope this helps.

You are not supposed to be in any directory, its a command that you are supposed to run as root (# means you need to be root) from the command line.

in my experience apt and synaptic don't work very well in FC. For a graphical interface have a look at yumex.

If '#rpm -qa | grep -i real' doesn't display anything ... you didn't install realplyer through an rpm.

If you use a .bin file or compiled from source (not sure if that's possible for realplayer) try 'which realplayer'.
If that still doesn't work, update your system's find database with
# updatedb
and when that's finished look for realplayer with:
# slocate -i realplayer
If tat doesn't turn anything up either... it's not there!

MPlayer and its codecs will play most movie formats.

You could also install xine libs with win32 codecs and a gui like totem or kaffeine. If you install xine libs, amarok can also use its engine to play various formats including wma.
