evolution VS PST

i'm using eolution to open my 3 e-mail accounts and every thing worls nice and neat. now i have a big PST file fill with vedio-picture attachments and contacts from my home country which is very important to take a look from to time ... the thing is to import PST to evolution but by defualt the program diesn't support PST yet. the trick i found in LQ is to install Mozzila for windows and go to mozilla mail client to import the pst file and convert it to another file format which evolution can understand. the thing that after i did that ... all e-mails were imported succefully but with text part only , without vidoes or pics ..... i tried to export PST to other file format but it didn't work too ..... for some reason i'm not able to get the attachments viewd ..... now is there a solution for this ....??? alternitavily, is there a way to make evolution understand PST files ... as far as i know , eolution doesn't have a library to read PST ... well i found one in sourceforge.net ( libpst ) , downloaded it but the documentation for that library is insufficient for a newbie like me ... or to say the truth ... i don't know how to compile it or whre to put it .... anyone can help with this ..???

thanks guys

evolution VS PST

Hello,

1. libpst : there is no new version of libpst since ... and support of new Outlook PST is bad.
2. If you try to convert from a soft to a second and then import to a other one this give most of the time some problems.

My suggestions :
- PST calendar : send your calendar events to evolution (just like sharing event with outlook users)
- PST contacts :
1. using CSV format and import into evolution
2. send the contacts as a "Electronic Business Card" attachment (vcf)
- PST mails : install a IMAP server, copy the PST mails on the server and sync it with evolution

I hope this can help you.

thanks for the help

thanks . i wash able to solve the problem by installing Eduora and converting the PST to mbox form and the program was able to read my attchments.thanks for the valuable help. i think if evolution developers are willing to push people to convert from outlook , they should work on the PST - to -mbox database in an easier way.

thanks man.....
