Is there an easy way to check the permissions on the filesystem?

Is the error indicative of a permission's problem => the SCP did not work do to the file system being read only?

if you run mount it will show you which filesystems are mounted read-only or read-write.

according to the output of your ls the file exists on the server but you are having troubles running it.

i would run the file command on it somehow. scp it to a linux server (that isnt running a limited busybox installation) or mac and check what filetype it is.

How do you compile and run the program before you SCP it? ALL STEPS please, with output.

How are you attempting to run it over SSH? ALL STEPS and code please, with output.

I was able to get it working.

The issue was in the makefile. It was pointing to an older/different cross-compiler. Once I was pointing to the correct cross-compiler it works.

I appreciate all the help and sorry for dumb mistake.
