DOSEMU Console graphics

I've been playing with DOSEMU off and on trying to run
some old DOS programs. These programs run very well
within an X-term although they are limited in screen size
to the small DOS-in-a-box window. The graphics allow
easy readability and all the keyboard keys function
properly.

What I really want to do is run DOSEMU in the console,
which I know has problems, but I have managed to
change some settings in the dosemu.conf file which
surprisingly works:

$_video = "vga" # one of: plainvga, vga, ega, mda, mga, cga
$_console = (1) # use 'console' video
$_graphics = (1) # use the cards BIOS to set graphics
$_videoportaccess = (1) # allow videoportaccess when 'graphics' enabled
$_vbios_seg = (0xc000) # set the address of your VBIOS (e.g. 0xe000)
$_vbios_size = (0x10000)# set the size of your BIOS (e.g. 0x8000)
$_vmemsize = (1024) # size of regen buffer
$_chipset = "s3"
$_dualmon = (0) # if you have one vga _plus_ one hgc (2 monitors)

I get a nice full screen just like I was running the program in
Win98. Unfortunately, when I exit dosemu to return to the
Linux console, the screen blanks.

Output from lspci indicates an s3 video card:

This is probably a shot in the dark, but does anyone have an
idea as to what I could do to correct this problem?

Note: I am running the framebuffer console device

TIA

console graphics not working

Hi

I need to run an application that uses interrupts to display graphical text (with backround). This application runs on top of dosemu on Red Hat Enterprise linux 5.3.

I am able to see the graphical background but the text is missing. What can be the workaround required to fix this issue

Kindly suggest

Regards
