Digikam: Is there a way to migrate the DB from SQLite to MySQL?

I have Kubuntu Gutsy with Digikam installed and configured to use SQLite. I find SQLite is slow. Is there a command in digikam that will migrate the DB to another one. Should I just reinstall digikam?

I haven't used Digikam for some time but I'm not sure that it supports other databases?

The source code and database API's are readily available if you have the time and talent....
