Dictionary that describes word meaning!

Hi!
My friend has a Mac and he has a cool dictionary, that explains every word that you type. I was wondering if something like that is available on Linux. I need something that is offline, as far as I know only dictionary that I found KDict, it's online only. Thank you!

There are several dictionaries bundled with different distros. You can search sourceforge or google, I think you will find what you are looking for.
