a quick word translator.

hello guys,

I'm looking for a word translator or dictionary (mainly french -> english)
I'm using babytrans since a while (very useful) but this one don't have the french->english library included.

I have also try Everest which is nice too but too huge (dictionary, synonyms & all) for my needs and haven't the french->english either.

So if someone have the trick !
cheers

if you happen to be online you could use googles translation tools

http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en

good luck.

Google is certainly right on translations but the web page access is a bit boring.

freedict is WONDERFUL
there is differents clients (console and graphics)
the requests can be web based but you can also download libraries
the translations are not unique and appear to be reliable

thanks for this tips mikshaw, I'm happy having discover it.

for debian users: packages are named "dict-freedict-*"
