/dev/tcp

I recently purchased a new computer running Ubunu 15.10. I would expect there to be a directory /dev/tcp for the tcp drivers. However, it is not there. I am trying to get Apache to run on the machine but Apache is not working as expected. I am thinking the problem might be related to the fact that I do not have the directory /dev/tcp.

On Ubuntu, /dev/tcp is probably a bash built-in, not a directory (see also http://m.linuxjournal.com/node/1008804).

I doubt that Apache depends on it.
