default highlighting in kate 2.2.1

When you open these editors, the syntax highlighting is set to none.

How does one get to -->

1. set the default syntax highlighting mode set to a language which
he's going to use most often.

2. enable the "show line numbers" and "view folding markers" by default

3. Define shortcut keys for quick changing of syntax higlighting when
starting to edit an "Untitled" file.

I guessed there might be ways to do these and i need them too so am
asking.

You can change these settings, by adjusting them in the settings option in the toolbar. You need to change the settings for KATE itself as well as the editor. I keep the default syntax highlighting to none, becuse when I am writing a program in perl or c, kate just changes the syntax highlighting to suite the language in the source file.
