Debian Boot


I dunno if its supposed to but my Debian that i just installed boots up in a text terminal black screen with white letters without GUI. Does anyone know how to get it into GUI from there?

Log in, and try the command `startx`.

that didnt work for me it said the command was unknown

Which probably means that you haven't installed any GUI.

I don't think Debian installs a GUI by default. You'll need to do apt-get install [whichever GUI you want]

do u know what the apt get command is for a gnome gui and a kde gui?
