Question CUPS 1.7.5 not printing on Raspbian Jessie minimal install (Canon Pixma iP4500)

I want to use a Raspberry Pi B+v1 as a scan and print server; to avoid cruft, I used a netinstall of Raspbian Jessie and added only the necessary components (cups, saned, a few more).

My problem: After a few hiccups, I could set up CUPS and add the printer. However, the printer doesn't print. The first part of the document gets rendered, then CUPS is stuck on some percentage.

Queue shows "idle, printing page 1, 24" - for hours.

CUPS shows as user for a print job: {job_originating_user_name}

I reset the CUPS server config and enabled remote administration to make sure that I didn't bork something here.

Code:
Oct 10 18:59:40 EMK-RPiBv1 systemd[1]: Started CUPS Printing Service.
Oct 10 19:01:58 EMK-RPiBv1 systemd[1]: Starting Session 5 of user pi.
Oct 10 19:01:58 EMK-RPiBv1 systemd[1]: Started Session 5 of user pi.
is what the syslog shows.

From CUPS error log:
Code:
E [10/Oct/2015:16:51:16 +0200] Unable to communicate with avahi-daemon: An unexpected D-Bus error occured
W [10/Oct/2015:17:00:10 +0200] CreateProfile failed: org.freedesktop.ColorManager.AlreadyExists:profile id 'iP4500-Gray..' already exists
W [10/Oct/2015:17:00:10 +0200] CreateProfile failed: org.freedesktop.ColorManager.AlreadyExists:profile id 'iP4500-RGB..' already exists
E [10/Oct/2015:17:18:46 +0200] [Job 5] Stopping unresponsive job.
I blacklisted the usblp module, but I am out of my wits now. I googled for hours, but nothing applies. Any ideas?

I don't have a definitive answer here, but check the avahi-daemon status...
Code:
systemctl status avahi-daemon

For all people looking at a similar problem: Check printer hardware. In my case, printer was set to the wrong tray, which made it try to get paper from an empty tray. I never looked at the printer, just noticed that it had paper. Duh.
