Question Configuring PHP with MySQL

I was just installing PHP. I had MySql installed on installation of Redhat 9.0. On doing the ./configure for php with mysql support at the end of it all there was a notice saying that i should specify the path to Mysql. I tried /usr/lib/mysql, /usr/local/mysql.

Where are the libraries located? Any ideas?

The /usr/local/mysql should work. There is a lib directory in there.

here's a useful trick. as root, type updatedb

then, whenever you are looking for a particular filename simply type
locate xyz.

updatedb creates a database of all files on your system and locate finds whatever file you are looking for and lists all files that match the query. try it out.
