configuring PHP with MYSQL


Hello
I have installed PHP with MYSQl in Redhat Linux 7.0
I have transfered all my PHP files and i use MYSQL client called PHPmyadmin to access MYSQL.I do not face any problem when working with MYSQL using PHPMYADMIN client.But when write my own program to conncet to the database i run into problems.My programs never connect with database
Can u plz help me out in this regard
