Compiling Kernel with 8KB stack size

Hi there,

When I compile ndiswrapper and get this warning:

Code:
***WARNING: This kernel seems to use 4K stack size option (CONFIG_4KSTACKS); many Windows drivers will not work with this option enabled. Disable CONFIG_4KSTACKS option, recompile and install kernel
After reading this:

http://lwn.net/Articles/84583/

I gather that 4k stacks are an improvement over 8k ones, but all I need ndiswrapper for is on my old laptop (P3 450mhz, 128mb ram), so using 4 or 8kb stacks probably won't affect performance much.
And the driver I need to use crashes the kernel if its got 4k stacks...

But I cant find the CONFIG_4KSTACKS in the 2.6.19.7 configuration menu when I run menuconfig.

Has the 8k stack option been removed completely?

EDIT:

And what would the disadvantages be of using a 16k stack patch?

Using 'make menuconfig'...

Kernel hacking --> Use 4Kb for kernel stacks instead of 8Kb

Make sure that's disabled.
