Clone Harddisk Linux Install to Bootable DVD?

Hello,

first of all - I hope that I ve picked the right section - I m not altogether sure about this

I want to build a bootable DVD which should basically behave just the same like my customized linux install on the harddisk.
In my case it's a debian install (~ about 2Gb) with non-free nvidia driver and a bit changed startup script.

I dont want to create a generic live DVD - it should just work with the specific hardware of my system and should include all the bits I ve changed.

Before posting here I searched for how-tos but all I ve found dealt with setting up a generic live DVD.
Any hints where I should start?

Thank you very much for your help

Have you read about remastersys? It can create a bootable CD/DVD that includes modifications to your system. There is a version for Ubuntu and another for Debian. If that's not what you want, post back with more specifics.

It is easier to build a system that can be transferred to run on a dvd than it would be to transfer a working system to a dvd.

I'd also look at how Klauss did his work on the Knoppix distro. I think it is posted there how one can make a system.

The remastersys is supposed to work too.
