Changing the default icon for Files with some extention

hi all

i have installed latest version of realplayer
it has changed the icons of all the audio files...
it seems it has become the default icon..

How to set a default icon for a files of same type ??

If you are using KDE open your Control Centre (kcontrol) go to KDE Components--> File Associations. Use the search box to find the icon(s) you want to change.

i am using gnome..
can u please tell me how to do it in gnome...

please tell me how to do it in CLI [if any]
along with gui options..
